PR Update 8:37 am

Looks like Google gave us a PR update last night. Unfortunately, this blog didn’t get any PR (after all I just released it a few days ago), though it was indexed. Looks like I managed to skip the sandbox, which is nice. :)

Uppervent.com did mangage to jump from a 2 to a 4
Elliotswandesigns.com mangaged to get to a 3, I believe it had a 2 before.

How’d you folks fair?

I don’t think the sandbox is related to being indexed, but to the SERP positions of your site. You can be indexed within a day or two, but if you are in a sandbox you will not see your site anywhere near the top of search results, except for some obscure words. Takes time. Good luck!

    BTW, beautiful design…

    Thanks. :)

As far as the sandbox goes, I think you’re right. I have been listed, so I’ll have to see how my ranking start showing up.

smokeygecko is on a 2 according to the Google PR Calculater from the Google Community, and on 0 according to this PageRank calculator. Hmm.

Smokeygecko shows a 2 for me on the google toolbar. :)

Yeah, how do you like that. My old blog got moved from 0 to 2 and my new blog got overlooked. I guess I promoted my other blog to much. Dmoz seems to help a lot.

  • Elliot Swan July 30th, 2005 @ 9:34 pm (#)

Dmoz sure can help, but it sure is pretty tough to get in nowadays. it’s almost a waste of time trying to get in, the process is so slow and impossible. Some people have waited 2 years, and their site is still being processed.

I am glad you got so high of PR :D

I got in in no time flat. They must have some fast moderators in blogs.

hmm nice…I’ll have to look into that. :)

  • George August 2nd, 2005 @ 11:23 pm (#)

My main website is rated 5 I think… last time I checked.

  • Hans June 26th, 2007 @ 12:21 pm (#)

I’m at pagerank 4 for the time being :) I’ve jumped from 0 to 4 by using simple SEO tricks which in my opinion have helped me get there like : using post excerpt to avoid Google picking me for content duplication, watching over broken urls using Webmasters tool and most importantly interlinking/deep linking within my other posts on my blog so as to let the crawlers know where to head ahead.

I’ve been working more and now I’ll try seeing whether the results change on a future update. Btw when is the next? Is there a fixed timed frequency when the pageranks get updated?

Say Something.
