Win an Invite to WordPress.com, the new cool blogging site
That’s right, I’m giving away my wordpress.com invite, and you could win it. It’s quite easy, actually.
This is what you’ve got to do:
- In the comments of this post, post a link to the best blog post of all time.
- In 10 words or less, explain to me why it’s the best.
- If I’ve seen it before, it most likely won’t be picked.
- Anything disgusting will promptly be deleted, and you’ll be disqualified.
- No self-promotion.
- You may only post one entry, and don’t think you can get away with cheating.
- Posting a link that’s already been posted will result in disqualification.
- I have the right to disqualify anybody for any reasons, whether specifically listed here or not
Whoever links to the best blog post wins and will receive an invite to get their own wordpress.com account which also includes another invite that you get to give away. The contest will end on Friday the 14th at 7:00 PM Pacific Time, and I’ll try to announce a winner that weekend.
On your mark.
Get set.
GO.

The best blog is http://www.chinawhite.net.
This blog was luanched by Shak.
Shak currently spends most of his time in Shanghai where he acts as
the “man on the ground” on behalf of a number of western companies
looking for joint business opportunities and investments in China.
I believe Shak’s blog can open a window for china internet industries to western companies. So I regarded this blog as the best one.
What’s your Winer number?
Mathematicians, blogging inside jokes, Winer bashing — all in one post!

How can there be a better blog entry?
Haha I don’t need an invite — already got one. I’m interested in the entries coming in though.
yeah, so am I. Appears that so far not too many of my readers really want the invite though (of course, most of them already have blogs).
I don’t think a WordPress is that desirable. As you said, most people have blogs already. What they should do for WordPress.com is make a bigger hype for it. Say 3 invites per account; otherwise the owner of the account will be reluctant to give out one invite. It would be like the beginning of Gmail all over again.
Off topic…. you need see how your page looks in IE on a mac….
Jake: hehe, it probably looks pretty bad. But from looking at my stats, 20% of visitors have IE and less than 1% of that is IE 5. So I think I’m pretty safe.
yeah, i hate macs anyways… at least the one i was useing. I think its kinda odd that they made a IE for mac and didn’t even have them work the same.
I’ll find a good post soon…
So I could hold a similar contest on my site and boost traffic.
I don’t need my invite anymore. Got a Golden Ticket yesterday. : )
@Lanny: sweet, congrats. So far you were probably in the lead over here, too…that was pretty funny. Not to mention that you actually followed the rules.
@ Paul, that just gave me an awesome idea - a blogging meme for WordPress.com invites. I’ll work on this — it will be really interesting.
Getting redemption from getting uninvited the first time round…
Best Blog post ever… The usability of a toothbrush by OKCancel. Nuff said.
The best blog post EVER is: by Sonic The Great, my churches youth pastor.
This is the best post ever because of a perfect mix of truth and humor. nuff said.
Ends tomorrow…if anybody else is wanting to get their entry in make sure it’s before the deadline, otherwise it won’t be counted.
Well it’s ended.
I’ll probably get the results to you folks sometime this weekend.
I missed it.. to bad… Now i am forced to use the golden ticket that just came in the mail.
