New AJAX Feature 1:50 pm
I hinted to a couple of you that I had a new AJAX feature on the road map, and it’s finally up. You should now be able to switch from the Noteworthies to Snippits and visa versa.
For a while I’ve been wanting to have a spot on here where I could post short “snippits” that really aren’t worth a whole post, but are worth sharing. So there’s where I’m going to do it.
I eat food. I listen to music. I sleep. Sometimes. I drink lots of coffee. I make pretty pictures. I talk to people. I believe in things. I write stuff. I take photographs. I have a laughing addiction. I am human.
How will we RSS readers know when you’ve added new snippets?
They’ll be listed in the entry RSS feed like normal posts.
At first, I can’t get it switch from noteworthies to snippits. After a few refreshes, I finally able to see it. Probably caused by browser cache problem.
It’s cool, man. Great job!
i was clicking all last night trying to get it to swich… now i see that it wasn’t finished… man.. that would of saved me some fustration
@EngLee: Yeah, seemed to do that to a couple of people.
@Jake: lol….Still not quite working, the WordPress functions are giving me lots of trouble.
So what are snippets?
When (If) I get them to work, it’ll all make sense.
You might whant to make the text a little bigger us that are getting up in age [I’m probably the youngest person here] have seing problems. lol
nos your next step is to make it unobtrusive
kill the javascript:// protocol.
@Isaac: On what part?
@Dustin: I’ll have to mess with that after I get it to work at all.
A few people seem to be getting bizarre errors, and I’m WordPress is giving me trouble.
I wanted to make a specific catagory for the snippits then only show them in the Snippits box. The code works if I put it directly in the index.php file, but when I place it in the snippits.php file (which is being called by the ajax function) I get an “undefined function” error.
I just know that there’s something simple that I don’t know that I should know, but I can’t figure out what that is…
Well, it should be working now.
seems like it stoped working….
Jake: which part? It’s working fine over here. Also, make sure you have the “www” in the address, it won’t work at just “elliotswan.com.” Weird bug that I haven’t figured out yet.
ok, that fixed it
