Thinking about a realign 1:44 pm
I’ve been thinking about doing a realign here at elliotswan.com, and I’m now taking requests.
I personally haven’t been too pleased with all the earthy colors I used, so I’m planning on changing that a little to give it more of a modern touch. I also feel it has too much of your standard blog feel, so I’m planning on moving things around some.
But while I’m at it, I figured I might as well see if my readers want anything that I should take into consideration.
So, how about it?
I eat food. I listen to music. I sleep. Sometimes. I drink lots of coffee. I make pretty pictures. I talk to people. I believe in things. I write stuff. I take photographs. I have a laughing addiction. I am human. 
Any way out of the rectangular rut is a good plan. It’s a constant struggle as a designer, which is one of a laundry list of reasons that I am not a designer.
I’m quite comfortable with the arrangements. Some simple tweaks to the colors and the top banner would be sufficient to refresh your readers.
Its the… PINK! I’d take the pink totaly out! Its more for… girl stuff (no offence).
Looking forward to seing what you have in mind for the new layout!

More roundiness…
It’s more important than your design.
I like the earth tones. Just get a little more creative with them…perhaps more images (as part of the layout) like a big fat tree hanging over your mastHead that crawls up the sidebar
keep the pink. It makes you unique.
keep your flikr… just put it somewhere else. I have no idea where.
keep the personality (content wise)
Round everything and add some 3d effects like shadows, bevels, etc
Make thing livelier with lots more photos with lots of tranparency

Thanks for all the suggestions…I’ve been playing around with something, but I’m not happy with it yet. After I get something more solid I’ll probably post it here and see what you folks think.
Quite interesting:
I would just work on the colors, and header. Everything else looks quite realistic and modern.
The rectangle gives it a cofee feeling, like if you studying at starbucks…lol.
