    Bad business move…

No kidding. What really gets me is that they even support IE FIVE.

What kind of person interested in Rhapsody/RealPlayer Music Store is going to be running IE 5?

You would be surprised how many online music stores are the same way…. I’m pretty sure all of the ones that use Microsoft’s CRM require IE. Its kinda surprising to see this coming from Real though.

@Jake: Most sites I’ve seen that launch external applications will still work in FireFox, I’ll just get a little popup asking me if I want to continue…Not so with the RealPlayer Store. Which other ones have you seen that do this as well?

Walmart music downloads requires IE… i cant remember the names of the others right now. But look through windows media players store list… most of them (if not all) are that way (at least from the last time I checked).

That’s sad… You’d think they could at least make some sort of alternative for all of us with better browsers.

    or operating systems

  • Elliot Swan April 29th, 2006 @ 3:32 pm (#)

Yeah, that’s a good point. Though I suppose they assume that Mac users are going to use iTunes and that there’s not enough Linux users to really effect their sales that much.
