Snippit: Pownce–huh? 11:04 am

The founder of Digg has released Pownce, and I don’t really get it. Doesn’t email already do the same thing?

I’m glad I’m not the only one that doesn’t get it.

The review at http://www.solutionwatch.com/589/pownce-on-your-friends/ may make more sense.

Still just seems like an email client that can only send to people using the same client…

Nothing is new, but you know that.

I think this might be useful. I’ve enjoyed sharing links with friends using Del.icio.us, but the trouble is that we can’t discuss it much.

Lately I’ve found that Facebook sharing is pretty good. I can share links and we can talk about them in one place.

Yes, it’s like email, but once you start using it, you realize it’s a much better way to share this stuff. Email is pretty broken.

    Hey Elliot,

I posted my thoughts as to why I think Pownce is different from e-mail, as well as IM clients and file-sharing programs.

My review can be found here: http://www.mappingtheweb.com/2007/06/28/pownce-review-profile/

    Let me know your thoughts.

    Cheers,
    Aidan

This, IMHO, is waaay easier to use than email. I created 2 accounts so that I can send files to myself. It’s easier to me than sending through Gmail.

Say Something.

I'm a nice guy, so I'll let you use basic XHTML such as <a>, <strong>, <em>, <blockquote>, and <code>. If you're trying to share some code with us, just make sure to run it through Postable first.
