When Online Help Documentations Go Wrong 7:21 pm
Online help documentations seem to be becoming more popular. It used to be where you’d go to help in an application and you’d be presented with documentation that was installed with that app. Nowadays, you’re often just forwarded to a website. This has its advantages, for example it can be updated without the actual application itself being updated, but this should never be the only documentation available.
Here’s why.
I was recently trying to use iStumbler to connect to a secured network and was having problems (being new to the application). So, I hit the question mark button:

Normally, this might have been helpful–If “normally” = “connected to the internet.” However, since that’s exactly what I was unable to do, here’s what I got instead:

Helpful, isn’t it?
I eat food. I listen to music. I sleep. Sometimes. I drink lots of coffee. I make pretty pictures. I talk to people. I believe in things. I write stuff. I take photographs. I have a laughing addiction. I am human.
Haha, that sucks. Why oh why would they rely on the internet for all of their help?
That remains to be seen.
